Feature Release! Author Collision Prevention! Featured
- Edited
We’re excited to announce the release of our Author Collision Prevention feature, designed to make editing and collaboration in Zingtree smoother, safer, and more reliable.
With this new feature, only one person can edit a Workflow at a time, ensuring that your work is never overwritten and that teammates always know who has editing control.

Key Highlights
-
Workflow Locks for Safe Editing
When you open a Workflow from the My Workflow page, Zingtree automatically locks it so you have exclusive editing access. -
Visibility for Teammates
Other users can open the Workflow in read-only mode, with a banner showing who currently has editing rights. A lock icon on the My Workflow page makes it easy to see which workflows are in use.

-
Smooth Collaboration
If you step away, the system will automatically release the lock after a period of inactivity, so another teammate can take over editing without interruption. -
Read-Only Mode
Teammates can view the entire Workflow (including content and settings) while it’s locked, but editing tools are disabled to prevent conflicts. -
Conflict-Free Editing
No more worrying about simultaneous edits or overwritten work, every change is protected and collaboration stays efficient.
Why This Matters
This update gives your team more confidence when working together in Zingtree. You’ll always know who is editing, avoid duplicated effort, and keep your workflows running smoothly.
